If you're looking for good clean reading than this is the book for you! It contains action, romance, and a lesson in history along with an exciting story line! It's a great book about a family stricken by drought in Tennesse and the many exciting perils the author leads you through as they head their way out west. I'm sure the author, Ken Barham, did a lot of studying in history when he wrote this book, because it is definitely seen in detail in his fine writing skills. He was 83-years-old when this was first published, and definitely is talented in this his first book. If you love westerns, buy one and check it out! You won't be disappointed! This would be a great addition to any western library!
