(More customer reviews)This book is a gem. A pacy, informative and at times, hilarious read. It delves into many aspects of American history, from the Civil War to 9/11. It also offers an engrossing view of the South, without pandering to the stereotypes. Browny the mule is a splendid travelling companion and she and the author get to meet a huge cross section of charaters throughout their epic walk from Mexico to New York. Strongly recommended, especially if you're after something fresh and highly original.
