The authors point out that this is a character of Oklahoma itself. The authors point out that there has been little real work into the role of environment in developing institutions - religious or otherwise - in Oklahoma. The attitude of the work is realistic yet supportive of the people who have helped keep the dream alive for over 60 years. It is a lot like a family history and the family is Southwestern Christian University.
