For such a small-sized book, Don Lago's "Grand Canyon Trivia" packs an unbelievable amount of information about the canyon's geology, history, and trails. I was surprised to find that so much information could be included in a book for less than $10. Just about anything you might ever wonder about the canyon is in here including speed records for those kayaking the canyon, when the Anasazi abandoned the canyon, and how canyon rock art compares in age to that of the Egyptians (it is slightly younger). Don is an accomplished historian of the canyon and has translated his love of the place into a book that has something for everyone.
About the only complaint I might have is that the book does not contain an index, which would have made finding specific information so much easier. But that is a testament to just how comprehensive the work is and there are nine separate chapters that segregate topics by geography, history, wildlife, geology, the river, etc.
If you are a commercial river or trail guide, or just an armchair fan of the Earth's greatest canyon, this is the book for you. Here, here for "Grand Canyon Trivia".
