(More customer reviews)Reading this novel has restored my interest in the Longarm western adventure series. I am a longtime fan of this series but the last two I read were written by someone (You do know that Tabor Evans is actually many writers?) whose writing style was not clear and concise, which made the books boring and difficult to read.
In any case, the writer (whoever he is in this volume?) in this Longarm adult western has put together an excellent story full of drama, interesting characters, great action and even the right amount of spice. The writer of this particular text clearly understands the personality traits of Deputy Marshal Custis Long and does not clutter up the book with excessive and meaningless verbiage. The story flows beautifully and keeps you turning the pages for the next chapter.
The story begins with a bang, so to speak, as Custis and a lady friend just finished making love. When two distant female cousins show up with a story about buried gold our Deputy Marshal knows it is a matter of not just the law but of family honor to follow up on the problem. I will not give up a lot of information on this excellent story but it is one that has plenty of action to keep the reader interested in turning the pages. This book is a fun read.
